About Ron
Ron is a registered Psychologist providing services for Medicare, NDIS, DVA, and Workers Compensation clients. He is a member of the Australian Psychological Society with eight years experience. Before joining the team at BMC he worked in a non-government organisation providing services to Centrelink clients.
Ron has a broad range of experience in providing psychological interventions for adolescents and adults. He primarily works with clients to help overcome mood disorders, anxiety disorders, cognitive and academic performance barriers, and improving motivation and social/vocational engagement.
Ron uses a client-centred approach incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Brief Solution-Focussed Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Schema Therapy and other modalities. Ron has completed Level 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and uses this modality in his couples therapy work.
Ron’s background as an internationally accredited sports offical prompted his interest in sport and performance psychology. He is presently engaged in a PhD research program through the University of Southern Queensland into the effects of the pre-competition mood and acute stress on the performance of Australian softball umpires.
