About Jack
Here's my blurb...
Hi. I’m a Clinical Psychologist in private practice in Rozelle and Annandale (Sydney) and online. I help people with a range of problems including depression, anxiety, relationship and sexual issues, trauma, grief, suicidal thoughts, sexual abuse, and many other issues. I also coach people to lead more vibrant, meaningful, effective lives.
You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate, fee reduction or alternative funding; please see my information on fees.
The foundation of all effective psychotherapy is a good working relationship between the client and therapist based on empathy, warmth, and positive regard. I listen attentively to understand your situation, thoughts, and feelings as thoroughly as possible.
Our initial conversations will enable me to gain a thorough understanding of your concerns and the situation; this is important as it will help us decide which strategies may be best to help you achieve positive change.
We will discuss your options and we will work together toward your goals, whatever they may be. I will ask you for your thoughts as we progress, making sure that you are happy with the direction and progress of therapy.
Of course, you can simply attend for general counselling; sometimes we just need to talk to someone who understands.
There are many different types of psychotherapy; my practice these days is informed by Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and others. Although the type of therapy used can be important, research shows that the most significant factor in successful therapy is how well you work with your particular therapist.
In my experience, the best time to make a start is today; most people feel relief and wish they’d dealt with things sooner.
